I am here to represent you as one of Hertfordshire's Members of Youth Parliament (MYP).

Young people of Herts, welcome along to my page! Hopefully I will update my page more frequently now that we at UKYP have decided what our main campaign will be this year.

We have already taken some big steps forward into what we as members of Youth Parliament will do, with Political Education being our campaign choice.

What do you think about being taught politics at school? Is it a waste of time? Would you find it interesting? Let me know and who knows, you might be seeing a politics afternoon at your school or college.

Winning a place as an MYP in February

Below is my original statement:

Hello, my name is Tom and I am in the sixth form at Watford Grammar School for Boys.

At Watford I have started studying politics as one of my options and from day one I was fascinated by the subject. When I heard about the Youth Parliament my first reaction was that there would be someone better and cleverer than me to do it.

Then I thought about myself as a person, how I found the art of politics exciting, how I saw myself as a confident speaker and how I have a desire to help people like you and me, and saw how I was perfect for the Youth Parliament.

If you are looking for a well rounded individual who enjoys sport and music as well as knowing that you have to work hard to succeed academically, then please vote for the person who only wants the best for people like you - vote for Tom.
