Three Rivers Canoe trip
Young people (pictured below) from Three Rivers recently completed a canoeing adventure on the River Lee.
They set out from Herts Young Mariners Base in two-person Canadian canoes with the aim of canoeing to a campsite on the banks of Hoddesdon Lake - 5 miles upstream.
On the way, the group encountered water snakes, giant fish and out-of-control pedalos. The day was a scorcher and some of the group spent as much time in the river as they did in their canoes!
After their gruelling journey, the young people cooked and ate a feast on an open fire before settling down for a well earned nights sleep beneath the stars.
Molly (aged 13) said "I loved sitting round the campfire and I was proud of myself that everybody enjoyed what I cooked."
Dallas (aged 15) said "It was fantastic, I loved the canoeing and felt great completing a task that I thought I couldn’t do."
More overnight adventures are being planned and for further information about those, or other activities in Three Rivers on Friday and Saturday nights, please contact Jon Gibson of Youth Connexions Hertfordshire on 01442 454060.
