Find out about Apprenticeships
National Apprenticeship Week falls on 6th- 10th February 2012. Find out about tasters events in Hertfordshire.
What is an Apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships are a great way of gaining qualifications and workplace experience. As an employee, you can earn as you learn and you gain practical skills from the workplace.
Some of the key benefits of an Apprenticeship include:
- Earning a salary
- Getting paid holidays
- Receiving training
- Gaining qualifications
- Learning job-specific skills.
As employees, apprentices earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills. Off the job, usually on a day-release basis, apprentices receive training to work towards nationally recognised qualifications. Anyone living in England, over 16 and not in full-time education can apply.
Did you know?
The national apprentice rate is £2.60 an hour for apprentices under 19 or 19 or over in their first year of their Apprenticeship.
