Volunteering

Volunteering is taking part in an activity that helps others, and can be anything from helping on canal boat trips to putting on a fashion show for a charity or local cause. Other volunteering projects have included clearing litter in a local pond, developing activities with children and helping out in a youth group. There really is a huge variety of options.

By volunteering for something you enjoy, you not only have a good time, but can also gain experience and skills, meet new people, and get to work as part of a team – all great qualities to add to your CV.

You can get accreditations too to show that you have been a volunteer, and many employers will be keen to see these and hear about your achievements and experiences.
