 There are decisions to make at key stages, and the possibilities are growing, with the new Diplomas and more work-based learning such as apprenticeships. Sometimes it’s hard to know which is right for you. But there’s plenty of help...

 

  • Connexions Personal Advisers can meet with you in School, College or in the community. Visit your nearest Connexions One Stop Shop for impartial and expert advice.
  • hertschoices helps you to find out about your next steps with clear and comprehensive information about the full range of 14-19 opportunities available across Hertfordshire
  • hertsahead has been designed to help you find your way to your dream career, or your perfect course. There are often many different ways of getting where you want to go!  
  • Many schools and colleges have software packages called Kudos (click here for more information) and Adult Directions. You can enter your likes and dislikes to produce a list of job suggestions and then find out more information about the jobs you are interested in. Ask your Careers or Connexions Co-ordinator about how you can access this software. Adult Directions is also available in your local Youth Connexions Centre or One Stop Shop.
  • The Connexions Direct  Which Way Now? site helps you choose options during year 9.
  • The Connexions Direct It's Your Choice site helps with options after Year 11.
  • Connexions Direct’s Learning site has lots of resources to help you think about yourself and what career or jobs would suit your skills.
  • Find out about apprenticeships here.
  • The Diploma is a new qualification for 14 to 19 year olds and offers a mix of classroom learning and hands-on experience. Find out more about the new Diplomas.
