It is important to remember that most young people do not take drugs.
Every time you take a drug, whatever it is, you take a risk. Taking a risk means doing something that might cause you or someone else harm, either now or in the future.
What does the law say?
- Possession of any controlled drug is illegal – this includes cannabis, ecstasy and cocaine.
- If you were found in possession of cannabis, you might just get a warning and have the drug taken off you, but you could be arrested.
- If you are found in possession again, you could get a criminal record which might affect your future and make it harder to get work or a college place.
