  • 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day
  • Proteins such as meat, fish, nuts and pulses
  • Energy foods like carbohydrates – bread, pasta, rice

Young Heart

Young Heart is the British Heart Foundation’s website for young people designed with lots of games on how to live a healthy and fun lifestyle.

Get active!

Fitness includes keeping your heart and other organs healthy, and makes you feel more lively and 'up for things'. Exercise is fun if you do something you enjoy,  and can help you cope with stress and anxiety:

  • How much exercise do you do a week? 30 minutes a day for 5 days a week is recommended
  • These are some simple ways to exercise: walking to the next bus stop, dancing and yoga, climbing, taking the stairs instead of the lift, a game of football in the park
  • Being in good shape will help you feel good about yourself
  • Take a look at what’s available in your local area
