Eating Disorders

Eating disorders can fall into lots of categories like Anorexia or Bulimia. An eating disorder can be classed as having abnormal eating habits.

Did you know?

  • Eating disorders are not about food, they are about feelings.
  • Young people between the ages of 14-25 are most likely to be affected, but eating disorders can occur at any age.
  • 10% of known sufferers are male.

What can you do if you think you, or someone you know, has an eating disorder?

There is lots of support available for you both locally and nationally.

Local help

  • In Hertfordshire there are a number of Youth Connexions One Stop Shops across the county or if you are still in school or college you can visit one of the drop in sessions in school/college or make an appointment to speak to an adviser. Find out more here.
