Xbox Kinect review

By Jack

With Christmas shopping on our doorstep I thought something like a console review was overdue, and this is as close as we'll get this year (unless you're over in Japan and enjoying the new Nintendo hand-held)!

The Xbox Kinect is an upgrade for the Xbox 360 which allows you to play games through your body, much like the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo Wii Fit. It'll set you back around £125, and it comes with all the cables and parts you need, as well as a copy of Kinect Adventures.

Kinect Adventures is a selection of party/mini-games, again just like the Nintendo Wii and it's Wii Party. Nothing special or ground-breaking, all of it very much done before. But it's free, so what does it matter?

The thing that sets the Kinect apart from the others is that there is no need for a remote. It's a motion sensor that you put onto a table and it'll pick up on the movements in the room. As well as this you can also talk to it. You can give it commands on what to do just by asking it.

Overall it's a good laugh, especially if you have a few people over. I wouldn't say it's worth the buy if you already have a Nintendo Wii, since they're very much alike.
