Farm Town Facebook game review

By Wayne

Farm Town on Facebook is an application where you are given a field to grow crops on. As you plough your field you will begin to acquire experience points and as you level up you will be able to unlock things to buy, such as different seeds, structures to put on your farm and animals. You can also plant trees and make it one huge forest if you like, but you will need money to do that first.

You start off with a field, a tree and a few already ploughed and planted crops, when you reach level 15 you get to make your farm bigger, that’s for 20.000G, then at level 17, 19, 21, 23 and 25, each time the cost is what you paid for the last + 5000G.

You can play along with your friends who you can add as neighbours and you can visit their farms and help them harvest their crops by them hiring you. You can also hire people to harvest your crops, and if you don’t have many friends that play, you can always go to a place on the game called the 'market place'. There are always other players looking for work.

If you hire people, it’s not like real life where you have to pay them, you actually get MORE money than if you were to harvest your own crops! The person you hire gets a little bit of money every time they harvest a crop of yours but that doesn’t even come out of your own pocket. You can send your friends gifts of trees and animals and hopefully they will be nice and send you something back.

This is your farm, it’s for you to use and treat however you like. If you ever wanted your own bit of land, but you don’t have the money or the means to get a real bit, use this game until you can get your real bit of land.

With my farm, I found out a trick that if you are going to plough your field, when you see the green cursor you are free to plough there. So find a part of land which you can plough, then right click and then find a part of land you have already ploughed  and left click and it should plough over what you have just ploughed.

I have been playing this game for a while now and I enjoy playing it. It gives me something to do and it also gives a friend of mine something to do as I let her harvest my crops to help boost her farm. Does it get boring? Erm...sometimes, like after you have harvested your farm, you think.. 'I have to plough this all again, and seed it all again'. It makes me yawn thinking about it! It’s a good way to talk to people as well. Although you do get the strange people who actually think they are farmers and get really into the game Haha!
